Working With Edmond Tree Service Pros
Edmond Tree Service Pros does tree removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding, storm cleanup, cedar and lot clearing, and tree health checks for homeowners in Edmond and the towns around it on the north side of the Oklahoma City metro.
Most of our work starts with a phone call or the form on this site and ends with a walk around your yard. Edmond is two cities when it comes to trees. West of Interstate 35, and in the older blocks near downtown and the University of Central Oklahoma, the trees are mostly planted: pecans, elms, silver maples, Bradford pears, pines and oaks set out with the houses, now big enough to hang over roofs and fences. East of I-35 the lots get larger and the native Cross Timbers forest is still there, with post oak, blackjack oak and hickory, plus a lot of eastern redcedar that moved in over the decades. Each side brings different problems, and the visit is where we sort out which ones apply to you.
On the visit we look at the tree and at what it could hit. That means the roof line, the fence, the pool, the driveway, the neighbor's side and any overhead wires, and how a crew would reach the tree through gates and side yards. We also look at where the trunk sits. The City of Edmond treats a tree whose trunk starts in the public right-of-way as a street tree, and that strip usually runs about 10 to 12 feet back from the curb. In Edmond, homeowners are responsible for trees on their lot and in the right-of-way next to it, and no permit is currently needed to prune or remove a tree at a residence. Undeveloped, commercial and PUD-zoned land is different, and we point that out if your property falls there.
After the visit you get a written quote. Each tree has its own line with what will be done, how the wood and brush will be handled, whether the stump is included and the price. Nothing gets cut until you approve the quote, and if something changes once work begins, we talk it through with you and put the change in writing first.
How the work is done
- Cuts made to ANSI A300 pruning practice: back to a branch or the trunk, never topping.
- Limbs over roofs and fences lowered on ropes instead of dropped.
- Work near utility lines left to the utility's line-clearance crews.
- Brush chipped, and logs left, stacked or hauled as you chose on the quote.
- After a storm, trees on houses and blocked driveways are scheduled ahead of cleanup.
- You pay only for work you approved in writing.
